FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandria Bay, NY-- To better protect its customers from check fraud, ASAP Checks has made comprehensive security features standard across its entire line of checks for popular software such as Quicken, QuickBooks and Microsoft Money. This bundle of security features widens the gap over that offered by traditional sources of checks.
"Most people purchase checks from their bank or software vendor and feel protected when they see the Padlock icon on their checks. However, many security features found on most checks can now be easily defeated by scanners and inkjet printers found in many homes and offices" says Les Cseh, owner of ASAP Checks, Forms & Supplies.
The frightening reality is that anyone that writes checks is at greater risk than ever. The Federal Reserve Board reports estimates of annual check fraud losses to exceed $10 billion dollars every year. According to the American Bankers Association's latest research, related losses are increasing every year with no signs of slowing down.
ASAP Checks is a "new generation" check printer, whose mandate is to be the leader in protecting its customers from check fraud. ASAP does not charge extra for its comprehensive security even though some of the features are typically available only on custom high-end checks. ASAP also offers a free check fraud prevention tip sheet at http://www.asapchecks.com.
ASAP's most recent features are TouchGuard TM (color change ink is used so that anyone can test the authenticity of the check without special equipment) and Toner Grip (a special coating on the check paper for those that print their checks on laser printers, making it difficult to remove the toner).
Other features include void pantograph (special pattern of dots that when copied or scanned on some devices reveals the word "Void"), micro-printing (a border containing print that is so tiny it requires magnification to see and is very difficult to reproduce), reactive inks (that make it evident when someone uses chemicals and solvents to alter the check) and embedded flourescent fibers (that glow under a black light).
